Actress Lee Young Ae is gearing up ahead of her return to the small screen with the upcoming tvN Kdrama series, Maestra.

The network revealed the news and confirmed that Lee Young Ae would star in the new series, which would serve as her first TV show since she starred in the 2021 series, Inspector Koo.

Actress Lee Young Ae To Lead tvN Kdrama Maestra

The Korea Times quoted tvN's announcement, confirming that Lee Young Ae would lead the upcoming Kdrama series and work with Lee Moo Saeng, Park Ho San, Hwang Boreum byeol, and Kim Young Jae.

The series, titled Maestra, will tell the story of a world-renowned female conductor who is famous for her skills. She tries to unlock the mystery of her orchestra, The Hangang Philharmonic but discovers secrets that suddenly affect her life.

Lee Young Ae will play the female conductor's role, Cha Se Um. Meanwhile, Lee Moo Saeng scored Yoo Jung Jae's role as a president of a financial company.

Hwang Boreum byeol will take on the role of Lee Lu Na, a rookie orchestra member, and Kim Young Jae will portray Kim Pill, Cha Se Um's husband, who secretly envies his wife's success.

On the other hand, Park Ho San will play Jeon Sang Do's character. He is the orchestra's primary stakeholder who plays a huge role in the ensemble.

The announcement of the casting came months after Lee Young Ae's agency already confirmed that she accepted her role in the upcoming series.

Lee Young Ae Expands Philanthropy Career

While keeping herself away from the TV spotlight, Lee Young Ae has been dedicating her time to helping people in need. She has been assisting different organizations in the past few years, with her recent heartfelt donation dedicated to the victims of a fire in Seoul.

The actress donated 50 million KRW to the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities to help the victims of Guryong Village. Over 500 people were evacuated from the 60 homes affected by the fire.

"My heart ached after hearing news about the residents of Guryong Village who have lost their homes and whose lives have become more difficult due to this sudden fire. I want to become of at least a bit of help to those who are suffering," she wrote at that time.
