Latest Pokemon Let's Go! Trailer Reimagines the Anime's Opening Credits, Bring Tissues

To celebrate the launch of Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee, a new trailer was released and it will make a lot of millennials cry. The latest trailer actually recreates the opening theme of the Pokemon anime, complete with the iconic song from 4Kids. Expect many tears to flow from the face of any 90's kid who sees this trailer, since that theme song is just so darn good.

It's not just that they chose to put the original dub song, which continues to warm the hearts of many, but the fact that they try to recreate the original opening. We see Mewtwo and Mew at the start of the trailer, Haunter licks Charmander, Tentacruel swipes at something, and we see great shots of Team Rocket and Gary/Blue when the line "A world we must defend" plays.

Honestly, this trailer alone may have already sold the game to those that weren't sold on it. Many took umbrage with the fact that we are going back to the Kanto region and the game having GO-style motion controls. Still, the game has received some fairly positive reviews from critics thus far.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee are the first Pokemon games coming to the Nintendo Switch. It borrows a number of mechanics from Pokemon GO, including how you catch and level up these critters, which has been the subject of controversy to old-school Pokemon fans.

The two games are available now.
