Latest Pokemon GO Update Adds Gen 4 Evolutions and Meltan

While most fans are looking forward to Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee for the Nintendo Switch, there is still plenty of excitement to be had with the mobile game Pokemon GO. Niantic might be working on a Harry Potter game but they also released a new update for the mobile sensation, proving that they won't be giving up on their money maker anytime soon.

Firstly, certain Pokemon from Gen 1 who couldn't evolve before can now do so thanks to this new update. Magmar and Electabuzz can now become Magmortar and Electivire respectively. These evolutions were introduced during Diamond and Pearl on the DS, making the two Pokemon much stronger than they already were. Gold and Silver also introduced baby versions for these Pokemon.

Those that have both Pokemon GO and one of the Let's Go titles will now be able to connect with each other to get Meltan. This is the only brand-new Pokemon that was introduced in the Switch games and a lot of people were surprised by it. Not only is its default form adorable but its evolution is massive and awesome-looking.

Lastly, there is an Egg event that will add Rhyhorn, Porygon, and Magby in 2km Eggs. As if that wasn't enough, there is also a Shiny Elekid for those that are lucky.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android devices.
