Latest Monster Hunter Image Gives Fans Some Hope, But Not Much

Fans have made it clear that they aren't looking forward to the upcoming Monster Hunter movie from Paul W.S. Anderson, who helped make the subpar (but million dollar-making) Resident Evil films. Not helping is the fact that they got his wife and Resident Evil veteran Milla Jovovich to be in it, which isn't helping matters. However, a new image was released and it may finally show us that they know what will be done to make a great movie.

Probably not though…

Revealed by IGN, this new image has Jovovich's character teaming up with a character played by Tony Jaa, who looks like he comes from the games. He not only has one of the game's iconic swords but his armor looks like it's made from various beasts, which is what players have to do in all of these Capcom games.

While it does look like a hero that would come from those games, seeing someone from modern times like Jovovich might ruin it for some. Hell, the fact that Paul W.S. Anderson is involved at all means that a lot of gamers are going to be disappointed. Yet, his Resident Evil movies have made a reeked in the cash before and they might do that again with this Capcom property.

Here is the film's official synopsis:

"Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back."

Monster Hunter is currently aiming for a 2020 release.
