King Charles will be crowned next month. However, a new report claimed that the institution is on the brink of collapse.

King Charles Warned About The Future Of Monarchy?

The members of the royal family should support King Charles because the institution is reportedly at risk of being abolished.

A report claimed "the Royal Family as we know it is on the brink of collapse and risks abolishing itself by stealth," according to Express.

His Majesty has reportedly been warned of the monarchy being "too distant" after a dramatic slump in the number of public engagements.

The number of public engagements made by the royals dropped due to death, scandal, and resignation. There was reportedly a 40% drop in ribbon-cutting and hand-shaking duties in the past decade, according to a study.

The study predicted that if the junior royals don't do more to support King Charles, the monarchy could easily "collapse."

Prince Harry's Memoir Threatened The Monarchy?

Prince Harry released his memoir Spare earlier this year. It contained serious allegations against his family — father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William.

The Duke of Sussex made serious allegations against the senior members of the royal family, prompting some to question the institution. In a previous interview, Prince Harry said he needed a family, not an institution.

According to Euronews, part of the appeal of the monarchy is the mystique surrounding it. The public doesn't know what happens behind closed doors.

However, that wasn't the case anymore after Prince Harry conducted several interviews and projects revealing family secrets. When Angela Levin, Prince Harry's biographer, was asked about the future of the monarchy following the Duke of Sussex's allegations, she was still positive about it.

"People look at King Charles and Queen Camilla with respect because they aren't actually having a fighting match- they're getting on with their duties. They're working very hard. They are showing that not everyone in the royal family is like this."

She continued:

"There's always a chance that the monarchy can fall. You can't just say 'there it is.' Prince Phillip was very good about that – he used to say that you can't just sit here and wait for things to happen."

She added that the late Duke of Edinburgh had foreseen this before and urged the royals to prove to the people that they were at their service. Levin said the royals are hardworking.

The author of Harry: A Biography of a Prince added:

"They work incredibly hard. But I do think that they are strong themselves – William and Catherine are strong and I feel that when there are difficulties, you want the royal family there, because it is stable. You can look up to them and they will help you."

In your opinion, did Prince Harry's memoir have a negative impact on the monarchy?
