King Charles will still invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to his coronation. However, their attendance depends on them, and the Sussexes might opt out, according to a royal expert.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Could Reportedly Snub King Charles' Coronation Invitation
The British monarch would reportedly still want his youngest son and his family to be around his coronation day. However, royal historian Hugo Vickers predicts Prince Harry won't accept it.
"Harry has made it clear that he has certain conditions before he will accept any invitation," Vickers told Page Six. "It is always possible to reconcile if both parties are willing to do so … but I don't think the Harry side will budge."
"He's never wrong about anything. So that's not a very good start."
Although Vickers predicted that Prince Harry might snub the invitation, there are still possibilities that he and Meghan Markle might show up at King Charles' big day. Vickers hoped they would just skip the event.
"I do hope Harry won't come, as it could deflect from the ceremony. After all, that's why they don't invite crowned Kings and Queens to a coronation," he said.
What Are Prince Harry's Conditions To The Royal Family?
In his interview with The Telegraph, released Friday, Prince Harry got candid about why he shared the intimate secrets with his family to the public in his book Spare. He added that he removed several stories that would only prompt his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, to never forgive him.
He also shared what he wanted from them — accountability and an apology to his wife, Meghan Markle.
"I'm willing to forgive you for everything you've done, and I wish you'd actually sat down with me, properly, and instead of saying. 'I'm delusional and paranoid,' actually sit down and have a proper conversation about this, because what I'd really like is some accountability. And an apology to my wife," he said.
King Charles is reportedly considering giving in to his demands. His Majesty could reportedly ignore Prince Harry's treachery and succumb to the pressure from Meghan Markle's husband. However, some might not support the king's decision, including Prince William.
"Not only would the majority of his subjects, outraged by Harry's perfidy, deplore any concessions to the Montecito hucksters, but William and Kate would surely not cooperate in any humiliating apology," Bower wrote for Daily Mail.
The Revenge author noted that Prince Harry and Markle had unconsciously aired their jealousy to the Prince and Princess of Wales. Prince William and Middleton could not reportedly see any advantage in bowing to Harry's demands because concessions could only lead to further accusations.
