King Charles could give Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a chance to return to the royal fold, according to a royal biographer. However, the expert doubts if the royal couple would do so, as returning to the firm could mean their decision to survive without the institution was a failure.

King Charles Could Give Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Another Chance To Join The Firm?

British journalist Angela Levin, author of Harry: Biography of a Prince, weighed in on the future of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during King Charles' reign. In her opinion, His Majesty might embrace them back into the royal fold.

"Well, I am sure King Charles would like [for the Sussexes to return] because he has always loved Harry and, if you are a father, you will always love your child, although you don't like what they are doing," Levin told Express.

Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl seemingly echoed the same sentiment. According to the author of The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown, the new king wanted to fix his relationship with his youngest son.

"I think Charles has been devastated by how things have spiraled," Nicholl told Fox News Digital about how King Charles feels about his current status with Prince Harry. "And he is hopeful that there will be a reconciliation. I think we saw that in the very... public olive branches that were extended to Harry and Meghan. After the queen's death, particularly in that first speech that Charles gave to the nation, he spoke of his love for Harry and Meghan."

"He does want to sort his relationship with his son," Nicholl continued. "He wants to do it on a personal level because he loves his son. He's never stopped loving his son. He may not be happy about everything that's been said, but he wants to have a relationship with Harry and he wants to have a relationship with his grandchildren."

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Unlikely To Return To The Firm, Expert Claims

Despite King Charles' potential to welcome the Sussexes back into the firm, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly unlikely to return to the institution, especially after the things they have said in their previous interviews.

"They would have to step in line, which I don't think Meghan would want to do," Levin said. "I think they would have to apologise profusely, which I don't know if they would do."

The Duke of Sussex has an upcoming memoir and a docuseries with his wife on Netflix. Levin speculated that if their projects don't sell, "they might come back." But the decision would reportedly not be easy for them as returning to the firm would mean they failed.

"But I don't think they would come crawling back. I don't think they would be welcome in this country either, because it would mean that they failed, really," Prince Harry's biographer said.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's representative did not immediately respond to Express' request for comment.
