King Charles and the other members of the royal family have wax replicas at Madame Tussauds London. However, something unexpected happened Monday.

King Charles III's Wax Figure Reportedly Attacked By Protestors

A now-viral video shows a man and a woman getting close to the royal display at the attraction. The woman gets what appears to be a cake and smashes it on the new king's wax figure. The man did the same.

The two protestors with T-shirts printed with the words "Just Stop Oil" demand that the government stop "all new oil and gas licenses and consents," based on their press release.

"The science is clear. The demand is simple: just stop new oil and gas. It's a piece of cake," they said. The announcement added that the group intends to "peacefully resist the government's plans to license over 100 new oil and gas projects by 2025, and its failure to fulfill its promise to help people with their skyrocketing energy bills."

The move from the protestors received mixed responses from the netizens. Others were wondering where the security was when the incident happened.

"WHY are Madame Tussauds letting them do this? WHY are shops standing back letting them pour milk everywhere? WHY are art galleries letting them get close enough to damage photos and then film? WHY are these companies helping them?" one asked.

"#KingCharles has been at the front of speaking about climate change and making the world greener and cleaner. This makes no sense but the way they have gone about things makes no sense," another added.

"Absolutely no point in this action Charles has supported saving the environment way before these people were born. Nothing but criminal damage and should go to prison," a third person opined.

Did King Charles Cause The Closure Of Royal Display At Madame Tussauds London?

Madame Tussauds London addressed the issue in a series of tweets Monday. The incident reportedly happened at approximately 10:50 a.m. Monday. The protestors entered the "World Stage" Zone and appeared to throw cake at the wax figures of the royal family.

"Our security team dealt with the incident quickly and we are working closely with the Metropolitan Police on this matter," Madame Tussauds London added. "The attraction remains open, with our Royal Family set closed temporarily."

King Charles did not really cause the closure of the royal display at the attraction, but what the protesters did to his wax replica prompted the establishment to temporarily close the royal family set.
