Netflix's newly released action thriller comes from South Korea and promises to be a real interesting film. Kill Boksoon follows the story of a skilled assassin who's living a double life by being a single mother to a teenager. But there's a challenge: Gil Bok Soon (played by Jeon Do Yeon) is keeping her profession a secret to her daughter, 15-year-old Gil Jae Yeong (played by Kim Si Ah).
As lines are crossed in the film, however, Bok Soon finds herself facing her boss, Cha Min Kyu (played by Sol Kyung Gu). Even though she manages to kill Min Kyu, Bok Soon realizes that her boss has sent a tablet to her daughter, which livestreamed their duel to the death. After realizing this, Bok Soon hurries home, worried that her daughter saw the events and will have a troubled childhood because of it.

Bok Soon has always kept her real job a secret from her daughter, Jae Young. Apart from protecting her, Bok Soon does this to make sure her daughter will be raised right and won't have a difficult childhood like she did.
Unfortunately, the secrets that Bok Soon keep from her daughter are enough reason to push her away. The two don't have a good relationship since Jae Young feels like her mother won't be able to understand her own secrets too.
For most of the film, outsiders believe that Bok Soon is an event planner. Jae Young, however, knows that this isn't the case. Towards the middle of the movie, Jae Young confronts her mother about a gun she found in her purse. Without giving her mom a chance to answer, Jae Young guesses that she works for the CIA. Bok Soon doesn't give a direct answer but just smiles.
Jae Young is pleased with this new discovery and even asks if her mother was able to fire the gun at all. Bok Soon lies and tells her that she only fired it once, at a firing range. This new discovery seemed to delight Jae Young, who was fond of brave women in history.
Did Jae Young See Bok Soon Kill Min Kyu?
One of the things that make Kill Boksoon an interesting action thriller is that there are times when the audience gets treated to a what-if scenario. There were a number of such scenes in the film, such as Bok Soon's confrontation with Jae Young when she found a box of cigarettes in her things. There was also the last fight scene with Min Kyu, where Bok Soon imagined different scenarios on how to attack without getting killed.
Knowing this, it's possible that the scene where Jae Young found the tablet and watched the video could have been one that Bok Soon imagined too. But it's also possible that Jae Young did watch the video and just pretended to be asleep when her mother came home.
What Does the Kill Boksoon Mid-Credits Scene Mean?
To the surprise of viewers, Kill Boksoon had a mid-credits scene, which showed Jae Young saying goodbye to her ex-girlfriend and taunting another classmate.
Many believe that Jae Young saw Bok Soon kill Min Kyu since she was confident enough to show her classmate, Yoo Cheol Woo (played by Choi Hyung Joo), a gesture that meant she was going to kill him. In the middle of the movie, Jae Young attacked Cheol Woo by sticking a pair of scissors into his neck after she was bribed into pretending to date him.
For now, we don't have the clear answer on whether Jae Young saw her mother kill the chairman. Hopefully, there will be a sequel to the movie that will explain what happened in the ending of the Kill Boksoon.
