Kevin Smith Reportedly In Talks With Disney To Direct A Star Wars Or Marvel Movie

Could pop culture connoisseur and cult director Kevin Smith be working on a Star Wars or Marvel movie?

Fandom Wire just recently attended Seattle's Ace Comic Con over the weekend and while they were there attending panels the publication learned that Smith actually met with the Mickey Mouse House for a potential project.

Though there aren't that many details regarding this project, many suspect that Smith could be taking on a film or television series for Marvel or for Star Wars. The Clerks director is deeply passionate about both franchises, following comics from Marvel and DC and all the films in the Star Wars franchise. Smith's had a lot of films under his belt, directing cult films like Mallrats, Clerks, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Not only has Smith directed episodes for The CW's DC series like Arrow, he's also been co-hosting the Fatmen on Batmen podcast together with journalist and writer Marc Bernardin, taking up various geek and pop culture topics. In Fatmen on Batmen, Smith openly talks about rumors and gives his reviews on geek films like those in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars franchise.

Though it's possible that Smith met with Disney for something entirely else, it wouldn't be a surprise if word came around that the director was actually working on something for Marvel or for Star Wars.
