Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is finally out in the open and it did not disappoint at all being a box office hit on its premiere. Those who have already seen the movie are still in awe and it was revealed by Kevin Feige that Marvel has always intended for him to have a solo film, to be introduced in their very own.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings forms part of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and introduces the titular character, his origins, and the arrival of the Mandarin, the villain teased as early as Iron Man 3. The latest addition to the MCU is expected to join the rest of the team in the future.

In a chat with ComicBook, Kevin Feige shared that it has always been the intention of Marvel to introduce Shang-Chiin his own film. He said, "The importance of this movie was telling and exploring the journey of the individual named Shang-Chi. That's what we wanted to do. That we get to do it within the backdrop of the MCU, that we get to hint at his place to come in the MCU, is a bonus. That we get to do it with characters you've seen before that show up in Shang-Chi is, again, is creatively additive."

Feige added, "Somebody asked me earlier, "Was it always the intention to bring Shang-Chi into his own movie first? Or, were there thoughts of bringing him, as we did with Black Panther, in another movie, before his movie?" The truth is, it always varies. And Shang-Chi, because of what I said about his family story and his history with his father, we wanted to explore it in his own movie first."
