Kevin Feige Excited for the Fox Merger with Disney

The Disney/Fox Merger is set to finalize this coming January, and a lot of people are excited on what Marvel Studios has planned when they finally get the rights back to the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters. As it turns out, even Marvel head Kevin Feige is excited, and he gives an update on where the studio is creatively when it comes to introducing the new characters.

Talking to Variety, Feige explains:

"As you said, the merger's not done but what I will say for years and years, the dream has been to have access to as many as of characters back. So we could tell those stories at Marvel Studios, if and when that happens I'll be very excited."

As for how they're going to merge the characters with the existing MCU, Feige only said, "We have ideas just from going back 18 years, but nothing specific."

There have been several theories on how to bring in mutants to the world of Marvel, but I think it would be a lot easier to bring in the Fantastic Four. My personal theory is that the old Avengers Tower will be repurposed as the Baxter Building, and seeing as it was sold off in Homecoming, it's very possible that the MCU has already planted its seed for the F4.

Introducing mutants is going to be the trickier part. With characters like Xavier and Magneto known for their age-old debate, it wouldn't make sense to make them young characters in the emerging world of mutants. Possibly the best way to introduce them is through some kind of multiverse plot device, which will have the main MCU altered to have had mutants all along, and the X-Men would have already been established in the current timeline.

This is just me spit-balling, but I would be impressed if Marvel found a better way to introduce mutants.

Though we still may have to wait a few years, everyone can't wait what Marvel has in store for their incoming Fox characters.
