Kevin Feige Enjoyed Drinking Your Tears During Avengers: Infinity War's Ending

Say what you will about Avengers: Infinity War but the ending has become a classic moment in modern cinema, often getting referenced, memed, and even ripped off. Admittedly, some of the film's stakes are gone since Spider-Man: Far From Home has already been advertised, along with the official announcement of a Loki television show and Scott Derrickson returning to the Doctor Strange sequel but it was still effective at the time.

Unsurprisingly, Kevin Feige loved the reactions to Avengers: Infinity War and thoroughly enjoyed our tears when everyone's child, Spider-Man, died. Actually, Feige just enjoyed how everyone reacted to "The Snap" aka "The Decimation," which the Marvel Studios head claims have been in the works for a while during an interview with CinemaBlend.

"And that ending, which we had been working on for many years, and I do remember people, on all of the movies we've made and I'm sure on many of the movies we'll make in the future, whenever the good guy wins, which is often --- good guy, good woman, good hero wins --- they go, 'Eh, it's kind of predictable. Good guy wins' Well, sometimes that's fun. But for years I remember thinking, 'I wonder what they're going to do when they don't?' Because we knew that was coming. And it couldn't have been better. The reaction was the best. The reaction. Was. The. Best."

Whether it was positive or negative, Avengers: Infinity War evoked emotion from all of those who watched the movie. That snap left a lot of jaws on the floor and many were shocked to see Thanos actually win; attaining his goal of balance in the universe by eliminating half of all living creatures. Admittedly, this will all be undone by Avengers: Endgame but it's going to be fun seeing how we get there.

Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26, 2019.
