Keanu Reeves Thinks The Trans Allegory in The Matrix is 'Cool'

Ever since The Wachowski Brothers transitioned into The Wachowski Sisters, a lot of fans have started to pick up some of the trans allegories that were in The Matrix. It's now something of a debate between fans and it doesn't help that people who use "The Red Pill" on their social media tend to be anti-trans and LGBTQ. Well, they might want to know that Keanu Reeves, Neo himself, thinks those trans allegories are "cool."

Speaking with Yahoo, Keanu was asked about the allegories and was all for it. He does bring up how Lilly Wachowski never brought it up to him but that's probably because it was the early ‘2000s and the world wasn't quite as accepting of trans rights or LGBTQ rights, though they were making some progress in the latter.

"I never spoke to Lilly about that, she never conveyed that to me. I think The Matrix films are profound, and I think that allegorically, a lot of people in different versions of the film can speak to that. And for Lilly to come out and share that with us, I think is cool."

Keanu Reeves is returning for The Matrix 4 and it will be interesting to see if they become more open to these allegories now that Lilly Wachowski has come out with her transition. Then again, she might want to move on to other topics but we'll never know until the movie comes out.

The Matrix 4 is scheduled for a 2022 release.
