Keanu Reeves Describes Script for The Matrix 4

It looks like The Matrix fans finally have a few updates on the fourth installment in the seminal science fiction film franchise.

Production on The Matrix 4 has been put on hold to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, however, that hasn't stopped franchise stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss from adding hype to the movie.

Speaking in an interview with Empire Magazine, the two decided to offer their thoughts on the upcoming installment, admitting how surprised they were when Warner Brothers announced that The Matrix was getting a fourth movie, this time from Lana Wachowski.

"I never thought that it would happen. It was never on my radar at all," Moss tells Empire in its Heroes Issue which has just been recently been put up for sale (via Cosmic Book News). "When it was brought to me in the way that it was brought to me, with incredible depth and all of the integrity and artistry that you could imagine, I was like, ‘This is a gift.' It was just very exciting."

Moss is set to reprise the role of Trinity, while Reeves is returning to play the protagonist Neo.

According to Reeves, Wachowski wrote a script and a story that resonated with him when he read it.

"That's the only reason to do it. To work with her again is just amazing. It's been really special, and the story has, I think, some meaningful things to say, and that we can take some nourishment from," Reeves told the publication.

A beautiful script might not seem like much of an update, but it does tell us that the movie has Reeve's thumbs up. We definitely can't wait for production to begin again so we get to know more about what Wachowski has planned for The Matrix 4.
