Katy Perry Will Be in a Final Fantasy Game Soon

Remember how weird it was when Ariana Grande was in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius? Well, it looks like Square Enix is going to keep the celebrities coming as Katy Perry is now the latest celebrity to join the mobile game. Sure, the character will only be available for a little while but the fact that Square Enix got the Firework singer to appear in a mobile game is still surprising.

Along with the announcement that Perry's likeness will be used for several characters, the singer will also be providing a new song for the title called Eternal Flame. It's a fine enough song and if you like Perry, this will probably be enjoyable. The deal might irk some who would have preferred another crossover with a different Square Enix title but it's temporary so Perry will be gone soon enough.

So, why would Perry agree to appear in a mobile game? Well, Brave Exvius has been downloaded nine million times by players, showing that Square Enix has quite the presence in the mobile market, especially in Japan. The company is expecting to make a lot of money with next month's Kingdom Hearts III but no one should fault them for wanting to milk their fairly successful mobile game.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is available now on iOS and Android. Katy Perry's characters will be available on December 12.
