Kate Middleton was every inch a future queen consort when she joined King Charles' first state banquet. She was seated next to their honorable guest, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. According to a report, the Princess of Wales lost her composure while his father-in-law delivered his speech.

The Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla as the new monarch hosted his first state banquet for their guest of honor, Ramaphosa. The South African politician was seated beside the Duchess of Cambridge.

Ramaphosa and Middleton were seen giggling together as King Charles delivered his welcoming speech. His Majesty opened his speech using six greetings from nine African languages - one of which was Venda, the language of President Ramaphosa.

The president seemingly found King Charles' efforts commendable as he was seen reacting with enthusiasm. He turned his head to the Princess of Wales after each utterance. She let her facade slip as she giggled with their guest, New Idea reported.

Kate Middleton' Looked Every Part The Queen' At King Charles' State Banquet, Expert Says

The Princess of Wales donned a white Jenny Packham gown at the reception. She paired her gown with the Lover's Knot tiara and Princess Diana's earrings. She also paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth by wearing the late monarch's pearl bracelet.

"I think Kate looked every part the queen," body language expert Darren Stanton said on behalf of Slingo, Showbiz CheatSheet reported. "I don't think there have ever been such striking photographs published to date with Kate looking so regal."

He continued, "Comparisons have been made to Princess Diana, as Kate wore a tiara she'd also worn. I think most would agree it's frighteningly similar and reminiscent of the late royal."

Stanton pointed out that Middleton may not be the "queen of people's hearts" as her late mother-in-law wished to be, but she was "one of the most popular figures now in the senior royal family."

"I think her success is largely down to her authenticity and willingness to connect with everyone," Stanton added.
