Kate Middleton’s 40th birthday is just a few days away, and Prince William is most likely preoccupied with planning his surprise for his beloved wife.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do not normally share their birthday plans beforehand so this paves the way for publications to speculate on what could be in store for the royal’s special day.

Kate Middleton Planning A Huge Party For Her 40th Birthday
OK! magazine, in its Jan. 3 issue, claimed that Kate Middleton plans to go all-out on her 40th birthday. After all, reaching this age is a milestone and needs to be celebrated.
However, an unnamed source claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge has also gone a bit overboard with the birthday party planning. And as of late, she already has between 175 to 200 guests.
“Kate’s planning a big affair with a long guest list, between 175 and 200 people. She and William want to rent a banquet hall in London for the splashy affair, where they’ll serve dinner (pasta and curries are Kate’s faves) and have live entertainment,” the unnamed source said.
Kate Middleton Doesn’t Care About Omicron?
The Duchess of Cambridge doesn’t allegedly have any qualms when it comes to inviting hundreds of guests even though the cases of omicron in the United Kingdom reached an all-time high this week.
Middleton also, allegedly, has Queen Elizabeth’s support to host a huge birthday party because the monarch believes the future queen consort deserves it.
“The cost of the party is already running towards the $1 million mark, but the palace approves and believes the occasion warrants a big celebration,” the unnamed source concluded.
Prince William Forced To Cancel His Birthday Plans For Kate Middleton
Last week, reports claimed that the exact opposite when it came to Middleton’s 40th birthday celebration.
Royal pundit Neil Sean claimed in his YouTube channel that Prince William was forced to cancel his surprise birthday party for his wife because Middleton doesn’t want a huge celebration.
“According to good sources, the problem that Catherine has is that Prince William wanted to organize a big bash. The bigger problem is this, it's two-fold. Prince William had planned the initial stages of a big party, coming up next year, but the problem of ongoing measures, lockdowns, it's very difficult to organize anything,” Sean said via Express.
Sean added that Middleton’s decision to not have a huge party also happens to be a blessing in disguise. After all, not hosting a celebration means they do not need to invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Even though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would most likely turn down the invitation, it would still be rude if the Cambridges do not invite them. And since Prince William is not ready to forgive his brother and sister-in-law just yet, this motivated him to cancel his birthday plans for his wife.

Kate Middleton Had A Special Birthday Celebration Last Year
Last year, Middleton had a unique birthday celebration because of the pandemic.
According to People, the Cambridges rang in Middleton’s 39th birthday by enjoying a cup or two of tea that was made by Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
“At the end of the day, she's in training to be a future Queen, but honestly you would never know it. If you go round to her house, you get a cup of tea, and it's often William who makes it! It's a lovely, welcoming house, not a fancy, stuffy palace in any way,” the source said.
