Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are often pitted against each other. But a new study claims that the Duchess of Sussex is smarter than the Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate Middleton Only Second To Meghan Markle In Intelligence
The Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex are often pitted against each other. However, according to a new study released by education company Oxford Royale, Meghan Markle is the "most intelligent member of the royal family."
The conclusion was based on the royal family's academic credentials from high school to college, using the QS World University Rankings.
Markle, 40, topped the ranking because she acquired multiple degrees from prestigious Northwestern University in Illinois, which ranks at number 30 on the QS ranking.
"Life as a royal isn’t always an easy job and involves a lot of dealing with extensive scrutiny and life in the public spotlight, and Meghan Markle’s academic strengths have equipped her perfectly for this role," an Oxford Royale spokesperson said, as per Complex.
"While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have resigned from their roles as working royals, they have captured the interest and attention of the world, and Meghan’s desire to use her platform to raise awareness over serious world issues reflects her intelligence, analytical mind and educational pedigree," the report said.
Middleton was also on the list but only second to Markle. The future queen consort studied three A-levels and went on to study at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, England, and later to the University of St. Andrews, which ranks 91 on the QS World Rankings.
Prince William ranked third. Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie and Peter Phillips were at No. 4 and No. 5.
Prince Harry didn't make it into the top 10 from Oxford Royal because he didn't attend college.
Kate Middleton Praised For Piano Skills
The Duchess of Cambridge shocked many with her surprise performance at the Christmas carol concert. Kate Middleton played the piano while Tom Walker sang his single For Those Who Can't Be Here.
The idea of their joint performance was reportedly Middleton's. The duchess was impressed when she saw Walker's playing Leave a Light On, so she invited him to perform at the Christmas carol concert she hosted.
Walker had nothing but praises for Middleton's performance. According to him, it was a "once in a lifetime experience," and the duchess nailed it.
"I thought she absolutely smashed the performance; it's not easy to just jump behind a piano with a bunch of musicians you've never played with before and record live takes to the camera, but she completely nailed it," he said about Middleton, as quoted by Town & Country. "It was a crazy pinch yourself kind of day for me, to be in such a beautiful venue playing alongside the duchess with my band and a string quartet. I certainly won't forget that in a hurry! My mum had a total freak out when she saw it on the telly."
Several netizens also praised Middleton for being too talented.
"And she plays piano too? All I can say is that she is one of the few royals to have this much artistic talent as she's also an amateur (but very good) photographer. Takes years to learn to play piano like this," one tweeted.
