Watch It In No Particular Order: Kaleidoscope Netflix Series

It has been the talk of the town that a Netflix series will be an intriguing one wherein you can watch the episodes in any order and still get the same story. That, in itself, is baffling and interesting enough to hook the audience on Kaleidoscope.

Netflix announced Kaleidoscope in the middle of December 2022 and as the new year arrives, a heist will happen, something that is yet to be seen. Previously titled Jigsaw, Kaleidoscope is an anthology series with each episode named from a color.

Kaleidoscope will be set from different points in time and it all depends upon the viewer on which episode to watch first, or which order to choose, because in the end, one episode has the answer to another while the other would post a question. All in all, that twist is enough to get everyone hooked for its arrival.

As per Netflix TUDUM, here is the synopsis of Kaleidoscope:

Spanning 25 years, the show follows a crew of masterful thieves who work to unlock a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history. Before they can get their hands on the cash, they must make it through the world’s most powerful corporate security team and the FBI.

With the synopsis itself, Kaleidoscope will not only focus on a single event, it will feature things that happened in the span of 25 years, and with each of the episodes fine to watch in any order, each viewer will have their own perspective of the main plot.

It all depends on the viewer which means it is an immersive experience. Kaleidoscope, much like the thing where it is based on, is composed of pieces of colored glass and through the eyehole, a person may see different shapes depending on the angle.

The episodes, in no particular order, are titled as follows: Violet: 24 Years Before the Heist, Green: 7 Years Before the Heist, Yellow: 6 Weeks Before The Heist, Orange: 3 Weeks Before the Heist, Blue: 5 Days Before the Heist, White: The Heist, Red: The Morning After the Heist, and Pink: 6 Months After.

Kaleidoscope could be watched through different points in time which would, ultimately, leave an impact to the viewer depending on how they watched it. Speaking with Netflix TUDUM, executive producer Russell Fine, said, “When you watch Kaleidoscope, all the information is there to be able to connect the dots and know the story.”

In the same interview, Eric Garcia shared that Kaleidoscope is loosely based on a possible event in real life, “After Hurricane Sandy, $70 billion worth of bonds got flooded in the basement of the DTCC, which is a large clearing effort that’s owned by a bunch of the big banks. To my mind, I was like, ‘Well, that’s a perfect coverup for a heist!’ ”

Garcia added, “Being able to move around and watch different orders gives you a different viewpoint on the characters. There are questions that are going to be asked in one episode that are answered in another episode.”

Garcia further explained, “Similarly, there'll be answers in an episode that you're watching that you don't even know are answers to something until you see the question when you watch another episode.”
