Following its cinema release in select US cinemas back in February, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends- got a surprise release on Crunchyroll, meaning fans who missed the limited cinema screenings can finally see the anime’s next arc.

While this new Kaguya-sama anime was initially released as a movie, its subsequent TV broadcast in Japan was split into two parts with two episodes each. This means the film’s home release is more akin to an OVA.

There are lots of high school romantic comedy anime, but it’s fair to say that Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is one of the most popular.

Since the first season was released, Kaguya-sama has proven popular enough to get three seasons.

What gives it an even bigger edge compared to other rom-coms is that it has a strong sense of progression. After all, other romance anime don’t really show progress with character romances.

While the third season had a satisfying conclusion, the anime hasn’t covered the entire manga yet, and there’s still a lot of content to cover.

Instead of getting a fourth season though, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War got an anime film that adapted the next story arc in the manga. This movie was released in Japanese cinemas in December – just in time for Christmas.

It may not have been released internationally in December, but lucky fans in the US and Canada were able to watch the film during its limited cinema run on Valentine’s Day, February 14.

When the film was announced in Japan, it was confirmed that the movie will get a TV broadcast sometime in 2023. Finally, the TV cut was released in Japan on April 1 and 3, 2023.

Shortly after the Japanese broadcast, the film was also released on Crunchyroll in two parts.

The first is composed of Episodes 1 and 2 and was released on March 31. Meanwhile, Part 2 was released on April 2 and consists of Episodes 3 and 4.

The Crunchyroll release is not available worldwide though. For now, only those in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand can watch Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends- on Crunchyroll.

For fans in Asia (excluding Japan), the TV version of the film is streaming now on Bilibili.
