Zack Snyder has always been seen by many as a creative visionary but even his biggest supporters admit that some of his ideas are too "out there". Take for instance his original plans for the Justice League trilogy which would have seen Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane form a romantic relationship.

It never came to fruition on screen but their romance plot was actually referenced in the four-hour Snyder Cut, something that didn't sit well with a lot of DC fans.

Earlier storyboards for the supposed Justice League 2 even suggested that Snyder's plan for the sequel was for Bruce to find out that Lois was pregnant with his child. Now, Snyder is offering fans new information about his grand scheme that never materialized.

Appearing on the Russo Brothers' Pizza Film School podcast, the beloved DC director revealed that his planned romance plot for Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane nearly made it to the original Justice League film, until the powers that be meddled with his vision.

He shared: "I think in the original script, Lois and Batman got together briefly. And there was this whole other thing that everyone was like, 'Oh my God, you can’t do that.'"

Surprisingly, the Avengers: Endgame directors found the plot compelling and wish it actually saw the light of day. Joe said: "I wish you did do that."

While the idea of Bruce and Lois getting it on seems a little too racy for some, that wasn't the first time the two were linked romantically in the DC Universe. In fact, the romance plot between the two characters was already explored in the comics and animation so I don't really understand where the hate stems from.

Both versions of Zack Snyder's Justice League are available to stream on HBO Max.
