Justice League Star David Thewlis Clarifies Ares Cameo in BTS Photo

In case you missed it, David Thewlis recently claimed that he wasn't aware that his likeness was used in Zack Snyder's Justice League. However, the Wonder Woman star has clarified that he was just joking about that and even shared an awesome behind-the-scenes photo.

Thewlis first played Sir Patrick Morgan, who is later revealed to be the god Ares, in Wonder Woman. The character would later reappear in the Snyder Cut where he delivers the powerful blow that forces Darkseid and his Parademons to retreat.

Interestingly, Thewlis recently joked about not remembering when he worked on the Snyder Cut. However, he has since clarified that it was all just a joke and that he had actually filmed the flashback scene in the film. However, he did poke fun at fellow actor Christopher Eccleston. Take a look at his post below.

"I am wearing a motion capture suit, about to shoot scenes for Justice League. That is a bald cap. That beard is glued on. They stuck my head on the body of a gentleman with a gym membership (not @christophereccleston)," Thewlis wrote.

We're glad that Thewlis clarified all that and it's great to know that the actor still has his impeccable humor. Needless to say, his performance in the Snyder Cut was awesome and we can't wait to see him in action again in the future.

Thewlis is currently working on The Amazing Maurice, which is an animated adaptation of The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett. The film is expected to premiere in 2022.
