Jon Favreau’s Live-Action Series Reportedly Beginning Production This October

There hasn't been that much official news about Lucasfilm's Star Wars projects after Star Wars: Episode IX, but there have been some rumors going on about Jon Favreau's upcoming live-action Star Wars series.

Though we haven't received any confirmation from Lucasfilm just yet, Discussing Film reports that the Iron Man director's live-action Star Wars show is going to begin production in October.

That might seem a little bit early considering the fact that the studio's still busy working on the production of Episode IX, but with Disney's streaming service set to launch sometime next year, the early production of the live-action series seems to make sense. Disney would want its $100 million-worth 10-episode Star Wars series ready in time for the launch of its streaming platform.

But that's not all. Earlier this week, word came out that the Iron Man director's live-action Star Wars show was going to focus on Mandalore after the fall of the Empire during the Return of the Jedi. Mandalore has played a pretty significant role in Lucasfilm's various animated series, including Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Fans have always loved the planet's warrior culture ever since it was hinted in the original Star Wars trilogy, and it'd definitely be interesting to see what would become of the planet in the series.
