After it was revealed last year, JoJo fans from all over the world have been anticipating the next installment of Hirohiko Araki’s iconic manga series.
While fans have endured the longest wait ever between parts, it seems to have been worth it, as many are loving the first chapter that was finally released this week.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 9 Begins Serialization
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has been ongoing since the 80s, and it remains to be one of Jump’s most popular titles. Of course, its longevity is thanks to its structure.
Unlike long-running manga like One Piece, JoJo is divided into different parts, each with a new protagonist.
Beginning in Part 7, the series has also shifted to a monthly release schedule.
The gap between parts is typically around a year or less, though the gap between Parts 8 and 9 has been the longest. Because of this, fans were hyped up about Araki’s teasers.
To celebrate the New Year, Araki shared a special illustration that seemingly teased the next JoJo protagonist.
Soon, the series’ official release date in Ultra Jump was confirmed for February.
After this, Araki finally gave fans their first look at the next JoJo protagonist.
This delighted fans, as many noted how great the character looks and how well the JoJo motifs are integrated into his outfit.

The JOJOLands Reveals Protagonist’s Name, Setting
The latest issue of Ultra Jump was finally released in Japan today. Thanks to this, fans finally know the name of The JOJOLands' protagonist – Jodio Joestar. In the series, his goal is to become a millionaire.
His name, along with details about the new installment, was revealed not only in the chapter but also on the series’ official website.
There, fans are also given a sneak peek at the contents of the latest chapter.
It’s also revealed that The JOJOLands is set in Hawaii, specifically on the island of Oahu.
This contradicts previous reports that the series will be set in the Mediterranean, though the story might just switch locations in the future.
The JOJOLands is officially available now in Japan in the latest Ultra Jump issue.
Currently, there’s no word yet on whether the latest JoJo adventure will be released in English outside Japan.
