John Williams Composes Original Score for Star Wars Theme Park

Disney is making the most of their Star Wars acquisition by not only bringing back movies, but also doing the best they can with the merch. A Star Wars theme park is in the works called Galaxy's Edge, and original composer John Williams has actually been hired to come up with a score for the attraction.

Give it a listen:

While we don't get any of the familiar Star Wars fanfare, a lot of the leitmotifs feel familiar enough, with the choice of instruments and that classic John Williams' vibe. I have a feeling this theme is going to play when you enter the park, but I guess more familiar music would also be playing near the other attractions.

With the sequel trilogy expected to end next year, Disney will need something to keep the brand alive until the next movie, and this theme park could very well be it. With Star Wars being such an interesting and vibrant world, it would only make sense that Disney would give us an entire park bringing us to a galaxy far far away.

For now Galaxy's Edge is still under construction, but we've been getting a lot of great updates from Disney as the year trudges along. I bet there's going to be some grand announcement come next year's Star Wars Celebration.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is set to open at Disneyland Resort summer of 2019 with another extension at Walt Disney World Resort opening fall 2019.
