It goes without saying that the sequel trilogy left a bad taste in the mouths of longtime Star Wars fans but Lucasfilm is determined to finally redeem itself with the upcoming big-screen project set to involve the trilogy's most polarizing character, Rey Skywalker.

The project, set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker will see Rey establish her own Jedi Order and naturally, fans are expecting more familiar faces to join Rey in her new journey.

Well, it turns out that Lucasfilm is currently toying with the idea of bringing back a no-brainer character in the next Star Wars film and we can already say that this potential move will please a lot of fans.

According to a recent report from LRM Online, Finn could play a significant role in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's "New Jedi Order" film. The outlet's source claims that the former First Order Trooper will be instrumental "in bridging the narratives of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy and the upcoming project featuring Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey Skywalker."

Moreover, it is said that Lucasfilm and Daisy Ridley are quite adamant about getting Boyega on board to do the film. Of course, it would all depend on whether or not the actor is willing to do another Star Wars project following his issues with the production company when he was filming the sequels.

To be fair, Boyega and Lucasfilm have long patched things up so the idea of him making his return to the franchise that pretty much launched his Hollywood career isn't out of the window.

I guess it just goes down on if Boyega actually trusts Disney this time around to do his character justice.

The next Star Wars film is currently eyeing a May 2026 release date.
