JJ Abrams Says Star Wars Episode IX Will Leave Fans 'Satisfied'

We're all still looking forward to Star Wars: Episode IX, right? The upcoming film is set to conclude the Skywalker Saga and J.J. Abrams says that the movie should leave fans absolutely "satisfied" this December.

Abrams recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about working on the final film in the current trilogy. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens director pointed out that wrapping production inspired mixed emotions.

"It was a pretty emotional thing, but the cast and crew did an unbelievable job. I cannot wait for you to see what we got going for you," he said.

It's easy to understand why everyone was getting the feels. After all, Episode IX will mark the end of the Skywalker Saga as well as the current trilogy. In addition to that, it could also be the last time we'll see beloved characters like Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. Abrams addressed this and admitted he is hoping that fans will be happy with their work.

"You'll have to determine that yourself, but I really can't wait for you to see it. There are a lot of words that we all hope that you'll feel and, obviously, the biggest, most important one, I think, is satisfied," Abrams said.

It's still unclear what will happen in Episode IX. Nevertheless, it's possible that Rey and Kylo Ren will be set for a final lightsaber duel and the film could pay tribute to the original trilogy.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20.
