We're getting yet another Superman series and this time, it's animated! Warner Bros. has just announced My Adventures with Superman, a new HBO Max series that will focus on Clark Kent and Lois Lane. However, fans are more concerned about Jimmy Olsen, causing the character to trend as they react to his new look.
Variety confirms that HBO Max and Cartoon Network are working together on My Adventures with Superman, a family-friendly animated series that follows the young Clark in his not-so-action-packed adventures with Daily Planet coworkers Lois and Jimmy.
The Boys star Jack Quaid will provide the voice of the Man of Steel while Alice Lee plays Lois. The voice actor for Jimmy has not yet been announced but he's obviously an important character considering that he's featured in the show's first look image. Check it out below.
Not surprisingly, fans were skeptical about Jimmy not looking like his old ginger self from the comic books.
This shouldn't be a huge surprise considering that this isn't the first time that we're seeing a Black Jimmy Olsen, After all, Mehcad Brooks played the character in Supergirl. However, it's more concerning that the voice actor for Jimmy was not revealed in the press release. On the other hand, it's possible that the role has not yet been cast so stay tuned for more updates on this story.
My Adventures with Superman will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Sam Register and Jake Wyatt will serve as executive producers along with Brendan Clogher. Josie Campbell of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power will co-produce the project.
For now, My Adventures with Superman has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is already expected to run for two seasons and will premiere on HBO Max.
