Jesse Eisenberg Confirms Cut Lex Luthor Scenes From Justice League

As many people know, Justice League was a disaster and it was all due to executive meddling. If Joss Whedon was given more time or was allowed to write his own script, the movie would have been fine. Had Zack Snyder's original vision of the movie stayed, we wouldn't be sure if it would be good but there's no doubt that it would have been better than the film we got in theaters.

Unsurprisingly, Jesse Eisenberg, the former Lex Luthor, has confirmed that Snyder filmed more scenes with him as the infamous Superman villain. Granted, his presence would not have helped since Snyder's vision for Luthor was worse than goat piss but if there was a chance for him to interact with Steppenwolf, that would have been interesting. At the least, it would have justified his annoying "ding ding ding ding ding" moment from Batman V Superman.

Eisenberg confirmed that there were more scenes in the Lights Camera Barstool Podcast (via ScreenRant), saying "I have no idea, I wasn't really around for that process. I think I was in some other scenes too, but I guess they're not in the movie, so they turned it into an after-the-credits scene."

Thankfully, Eisenberg has been doing pretty well for himself since his short run in the DCEU, with Zombieland: Double Tap looking to be a hit. He's clearly very talented so it's clear that the horrible version of Luthor we saw on the big screen was all Zack Snyder's idea. While we can all appreciate the director trying something different, the incoherence and annoying rambling got on our nerves quickly.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) comes out on February 7, 2020.
