I believe I speak for a lot of fans when I say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has never been the same since Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson left the franchise following 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Of course, most of us are aware that the original six Avengers have formed a unique bond on and off the camera after sharing the MCU spotlight for a decade and some fans have been curious whether or not they still keep in touch. Now, we can confirm that their friendship is still alive and well today despite the fact that we no longer see them together on screen.

According to actor Jeremy Renner, who is set to headline his own MCU spinoff series Hawkeye, the group has maintained a strong connection even after Endgame and he even reassured fans that their famous group chat is still active. In an interview with ComicBook's Phase Zero podcast, the Clint Barton actor said that they share a "very special" friendship where they talk about anything and everything under the sun.

He explains: "Yeah, we have a group chat and it’s all of us, some that are still alive and dead on screen. Yeah, we’re all very, very good friends and we don’t really speak too much about a job, and that’s what’s so great about being, you know, Avenger Friends. You know, we speak about our kids and, you know, our divorces and marriages and house buildings we speak about. That’s our life stuff, you know? Our friendship is very, very special."

While the chances of the band getting back together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe appear to be slim, even with the whole multiverse thing going on, it's nice to know that Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett Johansson still have each other's backs after all these years. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing them back together on screen but I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Hawkeye is streaming on Disney+ this November 24.
