Jason Momoa Was Supposed To Join Fast & Furious Spinoff With The Rock

Now that Aquaman's earned its crown as the top-earning film of the DC Extended Universe, it looks like Arthur Curry star Jason Momoa might actually have a future in the Fast & Furious action film franchise together with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Johnson has been pretty busy on social media as of late, promoting Hobbs and Shaw, his Fast & Furious spinoff on platforms like Instagram. While posting about his film, Johnson revealed that he had actually tried to get Momoa to play his brother in the Fast & Furious spinoff, only to be stymied by the DCEU star's packed schedule.

"Me and Momoa tried hard to get him in this movie to play my brother," Johnson wrote in a comment on Instagram (via ComicBook.com) "But his schedule was too packed."

In Hobbs & Shaw, Johnson and Jason Statham take on leading roles. The project recently added WWE Superstar Roman Reigns to play the part of Luke Hobb's brother. If things had gone differently, then we would have probably seen Momoa take on the role.

Of course, it's understandable that Momoa missed the opportunity to join the Fast & Furious franchise. The DCEU star's been pretty busy as of late, working on the worldwide press tour for Aquaman.

Aquaman has been an overwhelmingly successful film. Not only did the DCEU standalone movie win the Christmas box office, but it's also reached past $1 billion at the worldwide box office, taking the top spot in the franchise's list of top-earners.
