Jason Momoa on Why Aquaman Won't Have Any Major DC Cameos

The character might have been a joke to some early on but now, Aquaman is one of the films DC fans are counting on to get Warner Bros. out of their slump. Granted, this won't be the only DC movie coming out, with Shazam and Wonder Woman 1984 scheduled for 2019 releases but fans are hoping this ends up being a good movie, at the least.

However, it is still a superhero movie and fans are hoping to get a cameo or two from some of DC's finest. Whether that be Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman or Ben Affleck's Batman could be anyone's guess but if lead star Jason Momoa's words mean anything, it looks like we won't be getting any cameos at all.

Speaking briefly with CinemaBlend, the actor revealed that cameos from these actors can be pretty expensive so it's highly likely that Aquaman won't have any. Momoa is hoping future DC movies have them and go the same route Marvel did but until then, it looks like we won't have much of them in the future.

"I think it would cost a lot of money, probably. I don't think we got it in the budget. But, I think it would be great. At some point, I'm pretty sure, y'know, if this does well and if that does well...Probably, the same thing that happened with Marvel, you know what I mean?"

In fairness, this isn't a completely bad idea. After all, movies like Batman V Superman suffered greatly from setting up future movies, rather than focusing on its own story. DC has seemingly learned their lesson so not having cameos for a while can only mean good things.

Aquaman comes out on December 21.
