The actor instantly rose to prominence when he played the role of Tommy, the Green Power Ranger, in Mighty Morphine Power Rangers when the franchise began.

Between 1993 and 1996, he was seen in 124 episodes of the series. He reprised his role on the big screen in 1995 and experienced massive success.

The film earned a whopping $66 million worldwide with a budget of only $15 million.

When the original series ended, he played his role as Tommy again in Power Rangers Zeo, appearing in 50 episodes.

Outside the franchise, Frank was also an accomplished martial artist. He was a seventh-degree black belt and participated in several MMA events.

He, too, brought home numerous awards and was named Master of the Year in American Karate in 2003.

Frank's rep Justine Hunt announced the actor's passing. Sources, who had direct knowledge of the matter, told TMZ the cause of his death was suicide.

"Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being," Hunt told the publication. "He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed."

Walter Jones, who worked with Frank in Mighty Morphine Power Rangers as the Black Ranger, paid tribute to his late co-actor.

"He was an inspiration to so many people. His presence will be dearly missed. It's so sad to lose another member of our Ranger family," he said. "Jason was one of the biggest pranksters on the show. He had a wild sense of humor. We had our shares of ups and downs, but I stayed consistent about being an ear if he needed one. My prayers go out to his family, and all that will miss him."
