Jamie Dornan revealed that Robert Pattinson's casting in Twilight had an impact on his friendship with The Batman actor.

Some may not be aware that during the filming of Twilight, Pattinson shared a home with stars including Dornan, Andrew Garfield, Charlie Cox, and Eddie Redmayne. Naturally, each of these performers has subsequently gone on to star in their own film franchises.

Pattinson, on the other hand, was the only one who worked constantly at the time. Pattinson said after the premiere of The Batman that his roommates would only offer him "pity invites" to events that they would attend.

Jamie Dornan’s Response to Robert Pattinson’s ‘Pity Invites’ Dig

Dornan talked to ET about Pattinson's claim during the Critics Choice Awards, explaining that he and the other housemates did not offer "pity invites."

Dornan feels that Pattinson's early success separated him from the rest of the group:

"The pity invite? No. I think with Rob it's always been like, he sort of had success earlier, so we were a bit like, 'Does he really fit in with us?' Because we were not working, and he's working all the time,” Dornan told ET.

“He did Twilight and was suddenly in a different stratosphere than us. We've sort of, not caught up, but we all started working more consistently, but yeah, Jesus, we've known each other a long time."

A House Full of Successful Leading Men

Dornan makes it clear that Pattinson was never left at home by the group. Even the star admits that leaving Pattinson behind would be silly; after all, he was a working actor and an emerging star.

The other actors enjoyed bringing him to gatherings because he could draw all of the attention to them. For some, this may be difficult to believe, given all of these actors are at least fairly well-known for their attractiveness. They appear to have depended on Pattinson's instead.

Of course, none of these actors are relying on Pattinson any longer. Dornan is in the Oscar-nominated picture Belfast, not to mention the highly successful 50 Shades films. Redmayne is set to release his third Fantastic Beasts film later this year, and both Cox and Garfield appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was the biggest film of 2021.

Not bad for what began as a bunch of unemployed actors. However, it appears that they will never forget Twilight star Pattinson for being the first to gain massive fame.
