James Gunn’s Brother Gushes Over The Script For The Suicide Squad

Marvel fans might be eagerly waiting for James Gunn to return and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but before the director can begin work on the third Guardians installment, Gunn has to begin work on the sequel to the DC Extended Universe's The Suicide Squad movie.

While there hasn't been that much news about what Gunn has officially planned for the film, the director's brother, Guardians of the Galaxy star Sean Gunn, says that he approves of The Suicide Squad's script.

Though he didn't really mention whether he'd appear in his brother's upcoming DC movie, Sean did tell ComicBook.com what he thought about The Suicide Squad's new script.

"I know that he's [James] very excited about shooting and now that I have read the script for it and I will say nothing other than that it's really good," Sean said. "And I know that he's pretty jazzed about it, so I'm definitely excited to hear what happens next. But they start shooting soon."

It's good to hear that James is eager to begin working on The Suicide Squad. DC fans are excited to see how the director might handle Suicide Squad's sequel. The original film pretty much flopped. The only good to come out of the film was Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Will Smith's Deadshot.

Right now we're not quite sure whether Gunn's The Suicide Squad might serve as a direct sequel to Suicide Squad or whether the film is going to serve as a reboot. However, we do know that we're going to see Robbie again in the film.

The Suicide Squad is set for release on August 6, 2021.
