James Gunn: The Suicide Squad Has Finished Shooting

After Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn is set to make her next DCEU appearance in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. Good news is, the movie has just wrapped up filming.

Here's the announcement from the director himself:

Though Gunn was originally set to work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, his temporary removal from the film had resulted in him teaming up with DC to make The Suicide Squad. We don't know what to expect from this movie yet, but Gunn has said that this is one of his favorite scripts to work on, so that should mean something to the fans.

With Birds of Prey kind of misusing their R-rating, I'm hopeful that Gunn could go all out when it comes to this movie. I really liked how gory Super got, but for the sake of the box office, I think I'd be alright if they stuck with a PG-13 rating. After all, we don't want to take off another big chunk of the audience just like what happened with Birds.

Since production has already wrapped, I think there's enough time to assemble a teaser for this July. We know that the movie is set to come out late 2021, but I think it would be great if DC could get a head start in marketing this movie. Then again, maybe they can just put all the focus on the upcoming Batman film, but what would be the fun in that?
