James Gunn Says Last Guardians Of The Galaxy Easter Egg Has Almost Been Discovered

It's been five years since Guardians of the Galaxy was released and people are still wondering about the last Easter Egg that James Gunn has claimed would never be discovered. But is it possible that someone actually came close to finding it? The Suicide Squad director has just confirmed that one fan found it, or at least, part of it.

One fan reached out to Gunn on Twitter asking about the final major Easter Egg from Guardians of the Galaxy. Interestingly, the filmmaker offered an update. Take a look at his tweet below.

"It's been PARTIALLY discovered. Partially correctly and partially incorrectly. You know who you are," Gunn wrote.

It certainly sounds like someone had actually pointed out the Easter Egg to Gunn and he had confirmed that it was found although they were somehow wrong about the details.

So what is the last Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Egg? Your guess is as good as ours. The most recent guess had involved Man-Thing being one of the Collector's prized items in the film's post-credits scene featuring Howard the Duck. This certainly would make sense considering that the two had previously worked together in the comics.

At this point, it's probably best to keep rewatching GOTG to find out just what the final Easter Egg truly is. In the meantime, Gunn will be working on The Suicide Squad for DC and Warner Bros. This will be followed by the highly anticipated sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
