James Gunn Reveals Whether Thor Will Appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

WARNING: This article contains minor spoilers about the events of Thor: Love and Thunder.

The beginning of Thor: Love and Thunder gave us a quick glimpse at the team-up of Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy, which was established at the end of Avengers: Endgame. However, soon after, they parted ways as Thor has to deal with Gorr the God Butcher's threat. Some fans are wondering whether Thor will reunite again with the team in the future. However, it looks like that won't be the case anytime soon.

James Gunn recently confirmed on Twitter that Thor will not make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The information came as the director responded to a video clip from a live stream that discussed the Guardians of the Galaxy's appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder.

However, while Gunn confirmed that Thor will not make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, he didn't rule out any possibilities that they will show up together in other MCU projects in the future. In other words, the chances of another "Asguardians of the Galaxy" team-up is still a possibility although it will also depend on the characters' fate in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

So far, the plot details of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are under wraps except that the main characters are expected to return and it will feature the official debut of Adam Warlock in the MCU as well as other new characters with several castings that they announced in the past few months.

Regarding Thor's future after Love and Thunder, it still remains to be unknown at this point. Considering that he survived the events of the film, we can at least say that he will continue to have a presence in the MCU moving forward.
