James Gunn Posts First ‘The Suicide Squad’ Cast Photo

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad has a lot of fans hope that it's going to be one of the best DCEU movies out there. Considering Gunn's work in Guardians of the Galaxy, we all have high hopes and the director has decided to capitalize on our excitement by sharing a photo of him with some of the cast members. Sadly, it doesn't feature every cast member but it is good seeing Gunn chill with his actors.

Maybe these actors are portraying characters who will die right away? Sorry, Gunn himself told me not to get attached.

In the picture, we can see Gunn with Flula Borg, Daniela Melchior, David Dastmalchain, Nathan Fillion, his brother Sean Gunn, and Mayling Ng. Those hoping to see Margot Robbie and Viola Davis are probably disappointed but we should see them in pictures with Gunn soon enough.

Also, we're pretty sure that John Cena is in there somewhere but we just can't see him…

With Warner Bros stating that The Suicide Squad is going to be more of a soft relaunch than a sequel, fans are a bit divided with Gunn directing. After all, despite being complete crap, there are fans who enjoyed David Ayer's Suicide Squad and they disliked how Gunn liked certain tweets that were mean to the original movie.

Personally? I hope this movie blows the previous one out of the water since it seems like Gunn is more familiar with the comic material than Ayer was. Then again, Ayer only had a few weeks to make the script and it could be argued that Warner Bros had him on a tight leash.

The Suicide Squad is coming out on August 6, 2021.
