James Gunn is an incredibly busy man these days. As he's set to exit the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the director and now DC Studios executive will be shifting his focus and energy to the DC Universe. A few weeks ago, he along with Peter Safran already laid out their plans for the first chapter of the soon-to-be rebooted franchise.
However, some fans are still confused as to how the whole DCU shakeup affects some of the projects that were already greenlit before they came in. One of which is Gunn's Peacemaker series which is rumored to be on the chopping block after the franchise's Chapter 1 was announced.
Addressing the Peacemaker cancelation rumors, Gunn took to Twitter to confirm that Season 2 is still happening although it will have to take the backseat to make way for his recently announced projects like Superman: Legacy and Waller.
Responding to a fan, the DC Studios co-head wrote: "Heck no, just postponed while I work on [Superman] Legacy. Waller first. PM [Peacemaker] after." The confirmation makes Peacemaker the first official DCEU project to be part of the new shared universe. Check it out here:
While never confirmed to be part of the then-DCEU, Peacemaker still falls under the SnyderVerse category and even acknowledges Snyder's version of the Justice League, with some of its members appearing during the show's epic finale.

It'll be interesting to see if Peacemaker Season 2 will actually treat the events of the previous season canon but given how Gunn and Safran intend to clean the slate in 2025, there's a good chance the second season will ignore everything and be presented as a soft reboot.
