Jake Gyllenhaal Still Hasn’t Been Confirmed For Spider-Man: Far From Home

There's been a lot of talk about Jake Gyllenhaal joining the cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home , however, it looks like the Academy-Award winning actor hasn't been officially cast as the Homecoming sequel's villain just yet.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige revealed that the Nightcrawler star has yet to be confirmed as Far From Home's villain, Mysteria. Though this could definitely change, Feige says that Gyllenhaal's participation in the comic book movie has not yet been sealed. Fans will just have to wait on more updates from the studio.

Though the Marvel Studios president couldn't give away details about Gyllenhaal's part in Far From Home aside from the news that the Donnie Dark actor hasn't been cast in the Marvel film just yet, Feige did share a few details about the Homecoming sequel.

"Well, I mean, sure, let the speculation begin. That's always fun," Feige told the publication. "We like [the title] of course because it ties into Homecoming, not just keeping that word going, which we like and we liked it more than Homecoming 2, but that notion of 'home' is a word that has dual meanings we'd like to continue with this [Marvel Cinematic Universe] version of Spider-Man. So, Far From Home has multiple meanings."

There's certainly going to be a lot of speculation and we expect the rumor mill to go wild once Marvel finally gets to work on the production of the film. Maybe Tom Holland might even spoil the film himself. We all know his reputation.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
