Jack Black Pays Tribute to Late Nacho Libre Co-Star Silver King

If Jack Black has a cult movie, one of them would be the brilliant Nacho Libre which came out in 2006. News has just come out that Black's co-star from that film Cesar Gonzalez Barron a.k.a. Silver has passed away, and Black has gone to IG to pay tribute.

Just in case you don't know, vaya con dios, hermano means "Go with God, brother."

According to NME, Barron was actually in the middle of a wrestling match when he died. He collapsed last Saturday during the Greatest Show of Lucha Libre at London's Roundhouse in Camden. Reports say that the cause of death was a heart attack. Barron was 51-years-old.

In Nacho Libre, Barron played the main villain Ramses, who went up against priest-turned-wrestler Nacho (Black). Barron didn't have any memorable lines to deliver, but his imposing physique alone was enough to make the character stand out. The film also found fun ways to write jokes around the Ramses, which added to his presence onscreen.

Though Black himself wasn't a wrestler, it was known throughout the production that the actor playing Ramses was the real deal. Besides starring in Nacho Libre, Barron also wrestled for the WCW from 1997 to 2000.

While Barron may be gone, he has definitely left a legacy behind, and is also remembered in cinema as the main antagonist of one of the funniest cult movies of the early 2000s.

May he rest in peace.
