Following ASTRO Moonbin's death, IU shared her heartfelt condolences during an interview for her new film, Dream. The interview was held on the morning of April 20, hours after Moonbin's death was confirmed.

What IU Said About ASTRO Moonbin
IU requested the postponement of the release of the discussion due to the unfortunate event. In the interview, she expressed her sadness after seeing the news about ASTRO Moonbin's death and said it was heartbreaking since she has also seen a lot of friends and colleagues' struggles.
ASTRO Moonbin was found dead by the boy group's manager around 8:10 p.m. KST on April 19. The Seoul Gangnam Police Station confirmed in a statement that the idol passed away and the authorities would determine his cause of death through an autopsy.

Moonbin's agency, Fantagio, released a statement confirming the idol's death.
"Although it cannot compare to the grief of the bereaved family that had to part with their beloved son and brother, his fellow artists and the staff here at Fantagio, who have been together with him for a long time, are also deeply mourning the departed amidst tremendous shock and sorrow," the statement read.
After IU shared her thoughts about Moonbin's passing, her message about SHINee Jonghyun reemerged.
IU's Golden Disc Awards Speech Resurfaces
IU won the Digital Daesang at the awards ceremony, and she included Jonghyun in her heartfelt speech.
The Blueming singer started by mentioning Jonghyun and how important he was to her. She added that she understood his pain and that she was familiar with such suffering.
During her April 20 interview, IU recalled her speech and spoke candidly about the problems in society.
"In the past, in a space where I won a big award, I have said this before but - If our society was a place where difficult and hurtful things were naturally accepted, wouldn't it be nice to live in a society where we can be more generous toward each other?" she said.
Fans, on the other hand, applauded IU for speaking up and embracing everyone with her warm words.
