Is Yuji Itadori a Cursed Womb in Jujutsu Kaisen Explained

In Jujutsu Kaisen, a cursed womb is a cursed object that is uterus-like. Since it is a womb, it has the capacity to produce a cursed spirit. Once it grows, it changes shape. A quick fun fact is that Sukuna’s finger can create a cursed womb, and it has been said that a womb from his fingers can develop a special grade cursed spirit which they call a Finger Bearer.

An example would be the one Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara met during the Curse Womb Arc. The spirit devoured Sukuna’s finger which explains its tremendous power. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, after finding out what a curse womb is, are wondering if Yuji Itadori is a cursed womb as well.

Although it is not yet officially confirmed, a lot of fans have been debating about this for a while now. There are a lot of theories that Yuji is one of the nine cursed womb death paintings. First off, what is a death painting womb?

A cursed womb: death painting is a classification of a curse womb wherein it is a half-cursed spirit and half-human. It has been said that Noritoshi Kamo, a jujutsu sorcerer in the Meiji era, decided to experiment on nine aborted fetuses from a woman who can bear half curses. He took the woman for intellectual curiosity and did a lot of experiments on her.

One of the cursed womb paintings named Choso explained that Noritoshi mixed his own blood in some of the wombs which allowed these wombs to inherit the Kamo family’s technique which is the Blood Manipulation.

Going back to Yuji Itadori, fans believe that the reason he can be a vessel of Sukuna, and still have the capacity to control his own body, is that he could be one of the nine cursed wombs. Some also argue that Yuji does not have a memory of his parents which can be added reasons to prove that he is a cursed womb.

But some fans do not agree with this theory. They believe that if Yuji is really a cursed womb, Gojo and the others would have known it the moment they met Yuji. Unfortunately, the debate will have to continue since this part of the story hasn’t been mentioned. Until then, fans can continue making their theories about Yuji and the cursed womb.
