Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy is a light novel series. It was illustrated by Mitsuaki Matsumoto and written by Kei Azumi. The novel was serialized on Shosetsuka ni Naro, a user-generated novel publishing website in 2012. Eventually, the novel moved to AlphaPolis in 2016, and the said company published 15 volumes starting in 2013.
A manga adaptation was made with art by Kotora Kino on AlphaPolis' website by 2015 and this can be collected in eight tankobon volumes. The novel and series received great feedback that paved way for an anime adaptation to be made. It made its debut in 2021. Those who have read the manga might be wondering what is the status? Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Dochu is still ongoing as well as the novel and the anime. The novel series now has 15 volumes while the manga has 8 as of this writing. Those who wish to binge-watch the anime can easily do so via Crunchyroll as the streaming site acquired a license to stream the show. Medialink also has a license over the series and releases the episodes on its Ani-One Youtube channel.
The story follows Makoto who is just an ordinary high school student. One day, he was summoned to another world wherein he was tasked to become the hero. While this can be a good opportunity for him to leave his regular life, Makoto was surprised when the goddess of the other world insulted him.
She said that he was different and decided to remove his hero title. Not only that, she cast him off to the wilderness. Leaving him with no choice, Makoto decided to wander into his new environment wherein he encountered dwarves, dragons, and other non-human entities.
As an ordinary high school student, Makoto does not have any combat skills or magic powers. He just did his best to survive in his current environment where he decided to transform this world into a better place even if the humans and gods do not believe in him.
