Billy Batson and his whole Shazamily just faced one of the biggest challenges that they will ever have as they go up against the daughters of Atlas, Hespera, Kalypso, and Anthea, and this comes with a great cost in Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
While Hespera and Anthea did not go out as full-blown villains, Kalypso became power hungry as she tried to fulfill their goal of reviving the Tree of Life, and she wanted a lot more.

Because he was close to the event, Billy Batson died in the process.

See, the all-powerful magic staff can only be recharged by a god. Since, technically, Diana Prince is a god being the daughter of Zeus, she arrives at the funeral of Billy and repowers the staff to revive Billy Batson to life!
Not only that, Wonder Woman also called to Zeus, her father, for the restoration of the God Realms and the Garden of Hesperides. She also gave Anthea her powers back.
With Billy back to life, his siblings can also get their powers back as well, and the Shazamily is back in action.
All thanks to Wonder Woman, Shazam did not stay dead for too long and he could remain as a hero to all mankind along with his foster siblings.
