Sadly, its time is up as Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is shutting the studio down. In a report by Variety, it was revealed that WBD has tried to sell the division before, though all the attempts have been unsuccessful.
The shutdown will take months, as confirmed by Rooster Teeth general manager Jordan Levin in a memo distributed to staff on Wednesday.
With the impending shutdown, around 150 full-time employees and other contractors will be laid off.
Given how beloved the studio’s works are, many fans are saddened by the news. Some are also decrying the layoffs' harsh nature, given that they will put hundreds of artists out of jobs.
Fans are also now wondering about the future of the company’s projects, such as the RWBY animated series. After all, the shutdown might mean RWBY will not get a new season.

Yetter mentioned that "conversations are going very well to find RWBY a new home".
While the statement is vague, it gives fans hope that the series may continue, possibly under a different company or in another format.
