What Happened to Marlon on Death in Paradise? Why He Left Explained
We see Marlon's (played by Tahj Miles) unfortunate exit from Death in Paradise season 13 episode 5.
This is all because of the dilemma Marlon faced in the previous episode. When his sister Jocelyn received a scholarship letter in Kingston, Jamaica, Marlon knew he had to look after her.
Considering that their mother has to take care of their grandmother, Marlon takes it upon himself to volunteer to go with his sister.
Since he has to leave Saint Marie, he would have to leave his job as a police officer.
Not only that but there are no openings on the police force in Kingston, either, which leaves him having to pursue a different career.
Longtime Death in Paradise fans know full well that joining the police force was an eye-opening journey for Marlon Pryce, so, to watch him leave the team is already too devastating for fans.
That is until Commissioner Selwyn (Don Warrington) secured Marlon's position on the police force in Kingston by using his connections.
At the very least, Marlon gets to take a part of Saint Marie to Kingston.

Will Marlon Come Back on the BBC Show?
As of writing, it remains to be seen if we'll see Tahj Miles aka Marlon Pryce come back on Death in Paradise.
However, it is worth mentioning that the actor previously addressed that he would be "open to anything" no matter what happens to his character.
According to Express, Miles is "happy [with]whatever makes sense for the show." The actor added, "So if it makes sense for the show [to kill off] my character, then that is what it is."
Thankfully though, Marlon didn't get killed, which could leave endless possibilities that his future may not be bleak on the show.
Tahj Miles played the fan-favorite character Officer Marlon Pryce since 2021 when the actor joined Death in Paradise season 10.
Marlon's debut in the series was playing the petty thief who usually got arrested until he was eventually recruited on the Youth Offenders Police Scheme.
Since then, Marlon has redeemed his character by using his advantage of knowing how criminals think to do great on his job. All for the sake of putting his family first, too.
Meanwhile, new episodes of Death in Paradise air on Sundays on BBC One.
