The winter 2024 anime season introduces The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil to the viewers.
It is a romance comedy anime series adapted from the manga Stupid Angel Dances with the Devil by Sawayoshi Azuma.
Children’s Playground Entertainment is in charge of the anime’s production. It is listed with 12 episodes, making it a single-cour anime.
The premise of the anime revolves around a devil named Akutsu Masatora, who’s on a mission in the human realm to find a charismatic individual who can uplift the morale of the demons.
Akutsu disguises himself as a high school student to start his mission on earth.
On his first day, Akutsu feels strongly toward his incredibly cute classmate, Amane Lily, who also became his seatmate.
Akutsu then tries to convince Amane to help him on his mission, only to feel foolish in the end.
As it turns out, Amane Lily is an angel who’s also in disguise to hunt demons in the human world!
Unfortunately for Akutsu, he has to hunt his fellow demons to please Amane and gain his freedom back.
It’s not easy to work with the enemy, but Akutsu vows to try his best to not only accomplish his mission but also to defeat Amane in ways unimaginable.
So, Is The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil Manga Over?
No, The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil manga is not yet over as of writing.
It has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ seinen manga magazine, Dengeki Maoh, since June 27, 2016, and is still ongoing to this day.
So far, the manga series has 18 volumes, which can be collected into tankobon volumes.
In addition, a spin-off series titled Midara no Sotai wa Sei ni Mezameru has been serialized in the same magazine since November 26, 2022.
Despite running since 2016, there’s still no word about the series ending soon.
